Shtuff we did in 2015

2015 was a productive year for all of us at Hares on the Mountain. We released a full-length album and a Christmas single. You are welcome!

Our full-length album came out February 2015 and we all believe that it is out strongest release yet. It's pretty mean, but there are actually some love songs on this one, so there is that. Of course the lovers get killed by a bear, but that's love for ya!

This is easily my favorite album we've done by far. The band bring their usual excellence and JC recorded the hell out of this record

We also released a Yuletide single of our family-friendly Christmas favorite, "Merry Christmas, Asshole."

Hares on the Mountain Expanded Universe

Cory Coleman

We Hares are a busy lot. We don’t just play with each other, sometimes we like to play with other people. On occasion we even like playing with ourselves! Here are links to the various projects our illustrious members found themselves involved with in 2015.

First off, our very own Red Panda, Cory P. Coleman released a beautiful solo album that shows off not only RP's beautiful voice, but also his formidable songwriting chops.

Cory also released a Christmas single (copycat!) with the assistance of our very own Petra Kelly.

Along with his own stuff, Cory put out an album as drummer for the band Skagg Philips, which also includes our third sometimes drummer Corbin Childs (aka The 3 Hour Kid) on bass. We Denton musicians sure are an inbred lot.

Finally, Cory released an album back in March with the great A.M. Ramblers.

Petra Kelly

Peetie has also been super busy this year playing and recording with these acts: Kim Nall & The Fringe, Isaac Hoskins & the Glass Mountain Orchestra, Daniel Markham, Spooky Folk, AM Ramblers, Cory Coleman, FW Rock Assembly, Micah Schnabel, and the B-53s. Many of these projects also involve Petra's husband Matt Shasteen (aka Handsome Ryan, aka Sober Tony).

A lot of the recording she did won't be available until this year, 2016. However, Peetz contributed to one of the best albums of the year released by pretty much anyone by adding violin/fiddle for Brent Best of Slobberbone on his long awaited solo release.

Tony Ferraro

Handsome man extraordinaire, Tony Ferraro, put out a project with Denton musician and another very good looking man, Daniel Markham, called Smoke Paint. If you like your pop candy broken into pieces with a little salt, you'll love you some Smoke Paint.

Tony also released a single earlier in the year for the song "Go Go Supertoy," which also includes the talens of our very own Ryan Becker.

Tex Bosley

Our relief-drummer, Mr. Tex Bosley played with the peeps in 2015: J Paul Slavens & Friends, A Taste of Herb, Hares on the Mountain, Joe Pat Hennen & The Industrial Street Jug Band, The Holler Time, Wild Coconuts, Drew Phelps, Bonnie&Nick Norris, Warren Jackson Hearne&Le Leek Electrique, Caleb Hawley, Kody Jackson, Isaac Hoskins&The Glass Mountain Orchestra, Melissa Ratley, Celina F.U.M.C. Band, The Robson Ranch Texas Choir, Local Yoakam, Denton Institute of Phrenology Marching Band, High School Caesar. He also played on the album Minding Days
by Denton songwriter Kody Jackson.

Ryan Becker

Mr. Ryan Becker lent his talents to the aforementioned single by Tony Ferraro as well as the latest solo record by the wonderful Denton singer songwriter Claire Morales.

George Neal

George and Ryan finally released the long-rumored sophomore album from their old band The Slow Burners. Recorded in 2009 but shelved because the band drifted apart, this record has never seen a release until now.

Justin Collins

Finally, Justin Collins, who recorded exactly 15,437 bands this year with Satisfactory Recording Co. also played approximately 4,455 gigs with his country band The Raised Right Men.

Anyway, we wanna thank you guys for supporting us this past year and look forward to seeing you out and about in 2016.
